About Me

Hey there, I'm Pooka, a birth doula and placenta encapsulator who is deeply committed to supporting families in Boulder County and beyond. My approach to birth work is rooted in empathy, respect, and care. Every birthing person deserves to be heard, seen, and supported throughout their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey.

I was inspired to become a birth doula after supporting my sister during the birth of my nephew. Witnessing her strength and the transformative power of birth left me with a deep sense of awe and appreciation for the birthing process. As a certified doula through Rocky Mountain Doula, I hold experience in supporting families through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum with a compassionate and authentic approach.

As a birth doula, my role is to provide unwavering support to families, offering evidence-based information, emotional care, and physical comfort measures. I believe that every birthing person has the right to make informed choices about their birth experience, and I am here to support them in making those choices. In addition to my birth doula services, I also offer placenta encapsulation and postpartum care.

Outside of my work as a doula, I find joy in gardening, live music, paddle-boarding, kayaking, and spending time with my partner and our fur babies. As someone who deeply cares about supporting families during this transformative time, I offer sliding scale options for those who may need financial assistance.

  • Placenta Encapsulation | $350 ($250 for birth clients)

    15-minute phone call to discuss process/supplies/herbs desired, etc

    Safely encapsulated placenta using your choice of Traditional Chinese or Raw Method

    Custom placenta print and cord keepsake

    4 oz Tincture (made from a thumbnail size piece of “’raw” placenta and 100 proof vodka, which is aged for 6 weeks postpartum before it is ready for use and can be used at any point in the future during times of emotional or hormonal stress including PMS and menopause)

    $25 discount Is available if drop off/pick up is provided by you, or both for $50 off.

  • Postpartum Services

    $40/hr for daytime support (4 hour minimum)

    $50/hr for overnight support (8 hour minimum)
