Your Birth is a Portal—You Don’t Have to Walk It Alone

-Peace on Birth-

About Pooka

Hi, I’m Pooka—a birth doula, placenta encapsulator, and deep believer in the sacred power of birth. Based in Lyons, I support families across Boulder County and beyond with care that is rooted in presence, trust, and deep respect.

My path to this work began when I supported my sister through the birth of my nephew. Witnessing her strength and the raw beauty of that experience lit something in me—an awe for the birthing body and a calling to hold space for others on this transformative journey.

Now, as a certified doula through Rocky Mountain Doula, I offer full-spectrum support—emotional, physical, and spiritual—for the journey through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

I believe birth is a rite of passage. When people are held in safety and compassion, they can tap into their own power, wisdom, and voice. My role is to nurture that space: to walk beside you, to listen deeply, and to support your choices without judgment or agenda.

Alongside birth support, I offer placenta encapsulation and postpartum care to help families feel nourished and whole as they welcome new life.

When I’m not at a birth, you’ll likely find me gardening, paddle boarding, spinning records, or soaking in live music with my partner and our beloved fur babies.

If you’re looking for someone to hold space with heart, reverence, and calm, I would be honored to walk beside you.

  • Holding Space- I create a calm, grounded environment where your choices are honored and your feelings are validated—so you can labor in your own power, at your own pace.

  • Emotional Support- I walk with you through every wave—without agenda, without judgment. I offer presence, deep listening, and encouragement as you move through this sacred transformation.

  • Physical Support- Through nurturing touch, breath, and mindful positioning, I help ease the intensity of labor and support your body’s natural rhythm.

  • Strategic Support- Whether it's sharing resources, offering referrals, or guiding you through unexpected moments, I help you feel prepared, informed, and never alone in the process.

The Sacred Physiology of Birth

Birth is not just a physical event—it’s a sacred unfolding of body, mind, and spirit. Your body holds ancient wisdom. It knows how to birth, just as it knows how to breathe, to bleed, to heal, to love.

When we honor the physiology of birth, we’re honoring the divine intelligence that flows through every contraction, every breath, every heartbeat of labor.

What I Believe:

.Oxytocin is more than a hormone— it’s the energy of love, bonding, and surrender. It flows most freely when you feel safe, seen, and supported.

.The uterus is a sacred muscle—moving in rhythm with your baby, your breath, and your body’s own timing. It’s not something to be controlled, but something to be trusted.

.Movement, voice, and stillness are tools of alignment. Your body instinctively knows how to move to help your baby descend and be born.

.The nervous system is your inner compass. When you're held in calm, loving presence, your body can open with more ease. Tension is a sign to listen and respond gently—not to push through.

Birth is a portal—one that opens not just the body, but the soul.

It asks us to soften, to surrender, to trust the mystery.

It’s where power meets vulnerability, where instinct leads, and where transformation begins.

My role is to help create a sacred container—one where you feel deeply supported, spiritually grounded, and fully in your power.

"peace comes from being able to contribute the best that we have, and all that we are, toward creating a world that supports everyone. but it is also securing the space for others to contribute the best that have and all that they are."
